Our Mission

The  Association for Community Empowerment Solutions  works to accelerate an end to global poverty by removing the impediments to quality education through partnering and knowledge exchange to create a world of shared prosperity.

Our Impact

We are ACESWorld and this is what we do:

  • Working with communities to identify solutions to the multiple barriers girls encounter when trying to get an education
  • Training women as community facilitators to educate their communities on best farming techniques and public health issues
  • Conducting research to fill critical data gaps and better understand specific challenges of women and girls
  • Empowering youth in the US to actively participate in protecting the human rights of women and girls globally

Seeds4Seeds provides farming families with rice, maize seeds garlic and workshops on planting, composting and seed saving . The situation in many villages is dire.  3.6 people die every minute in east-Africa as a result of food insecurity.

Success4Less professional development helps under-resourced teachers develop compassion, leadership, classroom management skills, and content knowledge to give students the best possible education. More than 1000 students have benefited.

Pads4Learning gives girls with Menstrual Hygiene Education and supplies to manage periods in a healthy, safe, and dignified manner, to improve school attendance and educational attainment and to break the cycle of poverty.

 

ACESWorld Programs

 

Success4Less 

We help under-resourced teachers develop compassion,  classroom management skills, and content knowledge to give students living in extreme poverty the best possible education.  Those limitations include class size, lack of materials and content knowledge, poor attendance and inability to engage parents.

Seeds4seeds

Our Multidimensional Poverty Assessment in the Kasese District and Kabarole Uganda, identified families these rural communities facing extreme poverty and food insecurity. The select farmers are provided maize, beans and rice seeds and workshops on planting, composting and seed saving.   

Pads4Learning

Pads for Learning provide girls with Menstrual Hygiene Education and supplies with which to manage menstruation in a healthy, safe, and dignified manner, to improve school attendance and educational attainment and to break the cycle of poverty.

 

Students EMpowered to End Poverty (SEEP)

SEEP students learn about and actively participate in projects that address global issues of a social, economic, or environmental nature to gain the values, attitudes and behaviors that support responsible global citizenship.

The Big Problem We Won't Discuss

Let’s talk about periods.  Approximately half of the human population has or will menstruate, yet even in the US stigmas remain around menstruation.  When menstruation is discussed in the US, it is often a justification for discrimination.  While this form of discrimination in the US is extremely harmful, women and girls in industrialized nation typically have access to menstrual hygiene management supplies and information so that they can manage their periods and continue their normal lives.

ACESWorld volunteers do work that changes lives around the world  and without leaving home.  Your expertise and time can help feed families, keep girls in school, end child marriage or help teachers.  We need your expertise.
