Next Step Lab is an innovative program that introduces adolescent girls (ages 12-16) to the manufacturing industry, challenges gender stereotypes, and builds digital and STEM literacy. Using Human-Centered Design and real-world manufacturing challenges, the program will show girls that they have big ideas and can act on them. Female mentorship will offer additional career insight and guidance. Next Step Lab will partner with local manufacturers, educators, and community organizations to align design challenges and skill-building with the needs of local manufacturers. Program outcomes include manufacturing career awareness, digital and STEM literacy, confidence, and meaningful career connections.
